The vote in the Armenian National Assembly on setting up an ad hoc commission to focus on the March 1, 2008 post-election unrest will not be held until after the February presidential election, according to the parliament’s standing committee on state and legal affairs that made the decision on Monday.

The bill on the establishment of such a commission has been authored by the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) faction.

Davit Harutyunyan, the standing committee’s chairman, warned on behalf of the majority that if the issue was put to a vote on Monday the two majority factions would not approve it.
