The Brussels visit of the Prosperous Armenia party (PAP) Gagik Tsarukyan showed two things – PAP is an opposition and Gagik Tsarukyan will run for presidency, Rule of Law party’s faction head Heghine Bisharyan said at a briefing today.

Asked whether the PAP’s Brussels visit does not remind her the visit of Rule of Law party’s leader Arthur Baghdasaryan to London in 2006 and release of similar statement, resigning upon the return from the office of the parliament speaker and declaring him an opposition, Bisharyan said no such statement was released that time. “The Rule of Law has never said anything from abroad,” she said.

As to the party’s that time scenario, Bisharyan stressed that time Arthur Baghdasaryan had some disagreements with the incumbent president.

“We have resigned with dignity, transparently and clearly and declared ourselves opposition immediately, without gaining time. We have considered our leader a prepared political figure ready to run for presidency,” she said.

Hovhannes Margaryan, present at the briefing said, that he always speaks with pride about Arthur Baghdasaryan’s participation in elections and getting 300,000 votes.
