Chess: Aronian finishes sixth among nine participants of London tourney

Top Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian finished in sixth place with eight points in the nine-man London Chess Classic after drawing the last round’s game against Hungary’s Judith Polgar on Monday.

FIDE’s current No. 1 player Magnus Carlsen won the tournament with 18 points. This is the third time the Norwegian prevails in this annual event held since 2009.

Overall, in his eight games played in London Aronian scored one victory, tying five games and losing two.
