On his Facebook page, Armenia’s ex-FM, member of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) parliamentary group Vartan Oskanian comments on the PAP Political Council’s decision against nominating a candidate in the 2013 presidential election. In his message he reads that the decision against nominating a candidate in the 2013 presidential election or supporting any other candidate was not easy to make. The Council members voiced different opinions.Mr Oskanian himself voiced his opinion publicly months ago – the PAP must nominate its candidate given its influence, ratings and being an alternative, as well as the possibility of an agreement on a joint candidate.Considering the domestic political situation, difficulties in nominating a joint candidate and PAP Chairman Gagik Tsarukyan’s decision against running for presidency, the PAP Political Council made the aforementioned decision.
