According to the Turkish press, the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Supreme Court of Appeals, has requested that the high court overturn a 2012 verdict ruling out the involvement of an organized criminal network in the 2007 murder of Hrant Dink.

The Turkish press recently reported that the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office stated that Dink had evidently been killed solely because he was a Christian and that those behind the murder sought to destabilize the country.

“It is obvious that the murder aimed to weaken the state’s authority, to create an environment of chaos and instability by damaging public order and putting Turkey in a difficult position in the international arena,” it said.
