Armenia improves in latest Global IT Report, acting PM urges further progress

Armenia has gone 12 positions up in the Global Information Technology Report 2013 published by the World Economic Forum recently.

At present, the South Caucasus nation ranks 82nd among 144 nations.

At a meeting of the Armenian Cabinet today acting Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said, however, that further progress is still needed to catch up with neighbors Azerbaijan and Georgia.

“It is clear that the gap between our countries and particularly Azerbaijan has decreased, nevertheless it cannot satisfy us,” said Sargsyan.

The acting prime minister asked acting Transport and Communication Minister Gagik Beglaryan that his ministry present a program of steps and measures for Armenia to essentially improve its position.
