Winners of Armenian student essay contest named

Armenia’s History Museum hosted Friday an award ceremony to honor the winners of a student essay contest devoted to Nagorno-Karabakh.
The event, entitled “Artsakh: My Love and Pride”, had attracted 300 students, of whom ten received awards. Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan submitted the prizes to the winners personally.
“It is very symbolic that we have gathered here to sum up the contest results. I think we managed to have our contribution to instilling a greater love for Artsakh in schoolchildren. The essays in this competition revealed the young generation’s spirit, love and pride,” he said.
Ashotyan promised that the Ministry will organize a tour to Artsakh for the winners, most of whom haven’t ever visited the country.
A top prize holder is Tamara Afrikyan, a student from Secondary High School 119 (Yerevan). Among the winners, there are also students from the Monte Melkonyan Military Colleges and different secondary schools of capital Yerevan, as well as Khndzoresk (Syunik region) and Metsamor (Armavir region).
