Yerevan Votes: Police respond to various alerts of election-related violations

Armenian Police have been looking into various reported electoral violations as 12-hour balloting continues in Yerevan City Council elections today.

Violations reported during the first part of the day mainly concern vote buying, crowding in polling stations, bussing of voters, etc.

In particular, members of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun), one of the seven political forces taking part in the elections, phoned the police hot line to report a case of 18 voters in Arabkir’s polling precinct 50/28 voting without their names being registered in the voter register. The Police are now pursuing these cases.
