Deadline for paying election deposits comes to end

The deadline for paying the election deposit ended today at 3.00 pm with the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) convening a sitting by January 14 to register the 8 nominated candidates.

Speaking to Tert.am, spokesperson for the CEC Hermine Harutyunyan said only Aram Harutyunyan has used the 48 additional hours provided by the CEC to pay the election deposit.

The eight candidates who paid the election deposit are the incumbent president Serzh Sargsyan, former PM Hrant Bagratyan, Heritage party leader Raffi Hovhannisian, leader of National Self-Determination Union Paruyr Hayrikyan, Karabakh ex FM Arman Melikyan, epos expert Vardan Sedrakyan, political analyst Andreas Ghukasyan and leader of National Consent party Aram Harutyunyan.
